There are likely other Iron Ore locations across Icarus' world. The time it takes for them to prepare their attack is enough to land a handful of shots before using the cave's wall as cover. The monsters inside use ranged attacks that also deal damage over time and can take you out rather easily. Before you rush in, you'll want to equip a torch and possibly a ranged weapon. When you reach this spot, you'll also notice a cave that likely has more Iron Ore inside it. If that's not helpful enough, approaching items with your pickaxe equipped also reveals their name. It's a yellowish-brown rock peppered with shiny dark-grey inlays, as depicted above.
You're actually aiming for the lower and can spot Iron Ore when you get close. If you're aiming to find Iron Ore, one of the first locations you'll want to head to is M11, which isn't that far from where you land.Īs you push back the fog of war, you'll uncover two smaller rocky areas on the map. If you bring it up by pressing M, you'll notice that it uses a grid to make navigation easier. If the first mission is centered around the area adjacent to your landing craft, the second already sees you exploring a greater part of the map. One of the first Iron Ore locations you can reach in Icarus is relatively close to where you land.
